Our platform provides chronological timelines of one's life from birth to death with biographies, memoirs, photos, quotes, motivations, videos and more detailing how a person wants to be remembered. We also offer personalized custom keepsakes that are connected to each individual's report such as figurines, coffee mugs, photo frames and magnets.
As the custodian of your personal data, it's our duty to adopt robust measures that safeguard sensitive information and maintain your trust. Here's our implementation plan:
Data Minimization: Collect only the data that is absolutely necessary for your website's functionality. Minimizing the amount of personal information you gather reduces the potential risk associated with data breaches.
Encryption: Implement strong encryption protocols, such as Transport Layer Security (TLS) for data transmission and end-to-end encryption for sensitive user data. This ensures that data remains encrypted both in transit and at rest.
Secure Storage: Utilize secure databases and storage solutions to store user data. Employ encryption at rest to protect data stored on your servers or databases from unauthorized access.
Access Control: Implement strict access controls and user authentication mechanisms. Only authorized personnel should have access to the stored personal information, and their access should be based on the principle of least privilege.
Regular Auditing: Conduct regular security audits and assessments of your data storage practices. This helps identify vulnerabilities and potential areas of improvement.
Patch Management: Keep all software, frameworks, and platforms up to date. Regularly update security patches to mitigate known vulnerabilities.
Strong Password Policies: If users have accounts on your website, enforce strong password policies to prevent unauthorized access. Encourage the use of complex passwords and consider offering multi-factor authentication (MFA) for an extra layer of security.
Anonymization and Pseudonymization: Wherever possible, use techniques such as anonymization and pseudonymization to further protect user identities. This involves replacing identifiable information with pseudonyms or random identifiers.
Data Retention Policies: Establish clear data retention policies and regularly review them. Only retain data for as long as it's necessary, and ensure proper procedures for data deletion when it's no longer needed.
Transparent Privacy Policy: Maintain a transparent and easily accessible privacy policy that explains what data you collect, how you use it, and how users can exercise their rights regarding their data.
User Consent: Obtain explicit and informed consent from users before collecting their personal information. Clearly communicate the purpose for which their data will be used.
Employee Training: Educate your employees about data security practices and the importance of safeguarding user information. Conduct regular training sessions to keep them updated on the latest security protocols.
Incident Response Plan: Develop a comprehensive incident response plan outlining steps to take in case of a data breach. This plan should include communication strategies and methods for promptly addressing security incidents.
Third-Party Vendors: If you work with third-party vendors or partners who have access to user data, ensure they follow similar stringent security practices. Clearly define their responsibilities in terms of data protection.
Conclusion: Safely storing personal information is a foundational aspect of maintaining our user's trust and complying with data protection regulations. By implementing these best practices, we ensure user data security and privacy.
Our database includes recent obituaries from newspapers, funeral homes and other publicly accessible sources nationwide. However, we do not maintain an historical archive of obituaries.
If you are unable to locate the obituary you are seeking with a name search on ReportLegacy.com, you may be able to locate it in the local newspaper’s online archives. For more information on searching a newspaper’s archives, please contact the newspaper directly.
For obituaries published prior to the start date of a newspaper's archives, you may be able to find help at a public library, many of which maintain historical newspaper archives

Files must be 20MB or smaller. The upload time will depend on the file size and your Internet connection speed. Please be patient when uploading a large image.
Please try to use the best-quality image possible. The recommended settings are 2000 pixels and 300 dpi. If your image is below the minimum resolution/size requirements, do not simply increase the size in your editing software. You must either rescan the image or use a higher-quality image.

To locate an obituary or Guest Book, start on our homepage click here
Within the search bar enter the deceased’s first and last name into the search boxes, then press “Submit.” You’ll receive a list of recent obituaries (from the past seven days) for people with that name. If you see the person you’re looking for in that list, click “View Obituary” to read their obituary. You may need to click “Read more” to read the full text of the obituary. If you scroll down the page, you’ll see the Guest Book below the obituary.
If you don’t see the person you’re looking for, you might need to refine your search. If the obituary was published more than seven days ago, that’s the first thing to try. Use the dropdown menu to select a different date range.
